Project Sanjeevani

Asvattha planted 10000 saplings on World Environment Day, 2022 under Project Sanjeevani at Navagarh, Dublabera and Chhotkigorang villages in Ranchi District. Species selected for plantation are Peepal, Jamun, Neem, Mango, Jackfruit, Bamboo, Sagwan, Shisham, Sakhua, Karanj and  Gulmohar. Children also actively participated in this project.

Objectives of Project Sanjeevani:-

All saplings were planted on farmers’ land. The plants once grown into trees will bring in revenue, a source of livelihood, in the form of fruits, wood from trees, minor forest produce etc.. The leaves, once falling down onto land, will create organic manure for the soil. The trees are used for Apiculture (growing honey). So, various plant products help farmers to double their income. This is in line with Government vision of doubling the farmer’s income. Agro-forestry will also help in-
